Ministries and other institutions
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Mef) are the most important contributors to the Italian Aid to Developing Countries (APS). Fewer funds are given by other ministries such as Environment, Trade and Industry, Health and Interior.
Coordination between Maeci and Mef guarantees the full coherence of Italian Cooperation and Development programs; they share responsibility for the allocation of funds. The Executive Committee for Development Cooperation is the seat of the coordination between Maeci and Mef.
As executive entities, other ministries and other public institutions (Iss, Istat, Isiao) are able to receive funds from Dgcs to realize programs in developing countries.
The tools available for private Italian enterprises to realize projects in developing countries are mentioned on a dedicated page of this website.
