The Italian Development Cooperation implements initiatives aimed at securing the political stability of developing countries and improving the living conditions of their populations. In this section we describe the areas of intervention targeted by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation (Dgcs), divided up according to geographical area of action.

In this section we also illustrate the main sectors of intervention of Italian Development Cooperation, as set out in the Dgcs’s three-year guidelines, as well as the programmes for debt conversion and the initiatives for emergency relief and humanitarian assistance. To consult the list of completed and ongoing initiatives, please use the interactive Open Aid platform, which enables you to perform searches and view more detailed information on individual countries and projects.
